Care Station visit relative with her mum

Evolving the concept of the Care Station

The threat of the pandemic was cause of our care home closing its doors to families, friends and many other visitors from mid February 2020. Initially Facetime, phone calls and publishing pictures on our Facebook page was our way of connecting residents with their families. We knew we had to think further ahead, particularly for the winter and so the idea of building a cabin and enabling visits to commence was quickly put into action. We opened the Care Station in August 2020.

Cut to 2022 and the Care Station has changed. It is now used as an additional space for families to meet with their relative when they come to visit. The Perspex which once separated them have now been removed. The Care Station does have a heat lamp that can be pressed on and off and it will be one of the areas that can be booked on our visiting booking system.

The Care Station 2022 is now a space that can be booked on our booking system for visits.
